012 Stockholm

I spent 4 days in Stockholm, couchsurfing, walking around and generally seeing the city.
My Couchsurf host was quite bussy during the days, because he had his university introduction weeks when I was there. This meant I was walking around in the city on my own the first day. Stockholm is a nice city, there are many things to see, it is friendly and clean.
On the second day I went with my host to a couchsurfing meeting, where there were many other travelers. Because my host would be busy again the next day, I hooked up with two other travelers, and we decided to explore Stockholm together the next day. We met in the central train station, and decided to go the the island that surround Stockholm. We all had a day card for the busses in the Stockholm area, so we decided to see how far away we could get. Turned out that you can get quite a long way away from the center with this card. We ended up on some islands, and we took the free ferry tom some other island, without any real purpose in mind.
I like to travel like that, not really making a plan and just seeing where you'll end up. At one point we walked in to a road going up a hill, but we were told to go away by a guard, probably because it was a military area. At another island, we walked by an old forters that was being renovated, and the door stood open, so we decided to have a look inside. No-one was there, so we had a nice walk around in the fortres. Then we walked some more, and took the bus and the metro back

On the last day in Stockholm, I went to visit the museum-island in the city center. I first tought of going to the Vasa ship museum, but there was a very long que, and I had to leave in 3 hours. So I decided to go to the Nordisca Museum, which is full of Swedish cultural and Desing exhibitions. They also had a section on Swedish furniture. They had one of the first IKEA chairs.

I was supposed to take the plane out to Tallinn on Wednesday. I had looked at the boat tickets, but I saw that they were pretty expensive, so I decided to take a Ryanair flight there. However, when I was in Stockholm, I heard from many people that they also have cheaper tickets, if you share a cabin. So I went to their office, and I could actually get a ticket on the night ferry for about 35 euros. I decided that I'd much rather take the boat, so I did.
The trip to Estonia was really really good. We left from Stockholm at 6 in the afternoon, and the first 3 hours of the trip we were sailing between all the islands that surround Stockholm. In the beginning they are all full with houses, but later on they get more and more remote, and so beautifull!
Then I slept in the cabin which I shared with 3 other guys. It was great, none of them snored or got really drunk. We arrived in Tallinn the next morning at 10.

Now I'm in Eastern Europe, baby
